Professional Training Reform: EMBA Funding in Modern Times
21 JULY 2015
There are 4 funding sources: the employer, the funds dedicated to the professional training, the individual funding and the grants.Â
In Executive MBA, the use of grants is still marginal. But schools support each year a few hopeful candidates.Â
"Building a funding starts with the support of the employer. 55% of our participants are financed by their company" says Christine Neveux from EMLYON. A corporate financing can hide another. The companies construct their involvment from several budget lines : the training plan and/or reassignement of the variable. Some companies cover off all the costs. Others ensure the investment of the future colleague by comitting his variable. The written promise of not leaving the business too quickly is part of the package.Â
If the use of the pooled funds of the professional training is needed, it is useful to request the help of the schools themselves so as to build the folder. The legislation changes, the Individual Right of Training (DIF) becomes the Personal Training Account (CPF). A society change does not extinguish the rights opened to training. The OCPA allow - or not - all or part of the required funding. However, only for a few business schools carefully chosen! "The CPF will bring a part of the financing of the EMLYON EMBA but not the whole, my mission is also to advice on the additional solutions." adds Christine Neveux. "The Professionalisation Process" is another alternative? The companies can solicit pooled funds for the benefit of their collaborator. This system is hopeful for certain prioritised publics as the more than 45 years old women for instance. Â
In fine,an individual funding can wrap up the whole thing. Especially as the use of the individual financing is deduced from imposed revenues as actual costs. "The EMBA borrow. The negociated rates - 1.80 % at the end of 2014 for EMLYON - avoid them to dispose of their savings.".
