How do workspaces profoundly transform ways of thinking, learning to work, interacting and cooperating, and how does the design of these spaces leverage to affect individual, collective, organizational and managerial practices?
The organization of work in the 20th century focused on working time management and task optimization. Today, value is found in innovation, ideas, and collective contributions. It is therefore the cognitive activities that carry the value (imagine, think, speak, dialogue, criticize, experiment etc...).
In this context, design then becomes a kind of engineering of the human-environment interface, with the aim of creating new "common ground" for social creation, promoting diversity and serendipity conducive to innovation.
